This page does not claim blanket compliance. A dating platform that will handle identity documents should not be asking anyone to take “we comply with all applicable laws” on trust. Each item below names a specific law, states the specific thing Kilig does about it, and says plainly where the answer is “not yet”. Kilig has not launched, and this framework is pending review by Philippine and Australian counsel.

What it requires: Governs the processing of personal data, with a 72-hour breach notification duty and criminal penalties.
What Kilig does: Personal data is held in Singapore. Identity documents are never stored on our systems. Legal name is held in a table no client can read. The app does not collect precise location; if it ever does, precise coordinates would be held server-side only and never shown to members. Members can erase their account themselves, without asking a person; a copy of their data is provided on request to [email protected].

RA 10173 — NPC registration and Data Protection Officer
What it requires: Organisations processing sensitive personal information must register with the National Privacy Commission and designate a DPO.
What Kilig does: A DPO contact address is published ([email protected]). Registration and formal designation are due from the first real user, not at some later scale: a system involving automated decision-making or profiling must be registered in all instances, and discovery ranks members. Within 20 days of first operation, renewed annually.

What it requires: Prohibits businesses that, for a fee, match or offer Filipinos to foreign nationals for permanent partnership, including through online platforms. Legitimate dating platforms are carved out.
What Kilig does: Every paid feature is available to every member on the same terms. Nothing is priced or gated by nationality, and discovery ranking does not weight or order by nationality or citizenship. A build-time check rejects the vocabulary associated with the prohibited model across app copy, this website, and store listings.

RA 11313 — Safe Spaces Act
What it requires: Covers gender-based sexual harassment in online spaces, including unwanted sexual advances and misogynistic or sexist remarks made through digital platforms.
What Kilig does: Reporting and blocking are free and available to every member with no tier requirement. Blocks are enforced in the database, not only in the interface. Contact details are never exposed by default and cannot be purchased. Reports are acted on within 24 hours.

RA 9995 — Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act
What it requires: Criminalises capturing, copying or distributing intimate images without consent.
What Kilig does: Photo storage is private, served only through short-lived signed links. Sharing intimate images without consent is prohibited by the Terms and is grounds for permanent removal.

RA 9262 — Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act
What it requires: Covers physical, sexual, psychological and economic abuse, including abuse committed by a person the victim has or had a dating relationship with.
What Kilig does: Account deletion carries a reversible 14-day window specifically because deletion is sometimes performed under pressure from an abusive partner. Blocks survive an account being deleted and re-created. Safety controls are never behind a paywall.

RA 9775 and RA 11930 — child protection and anti-OSAEC
What it requires: Criminalise child sexual abuse material and the online sexual abuse or exploitation of children.
What Kilig does: Minimum age is 18, enforced in the database and again in the server-side onboarding function — not by a tickbox. Any sexual content involving a minor is grounds for immediate permanent removal and reporting to the authorities.

What it requires: Covers computer-related fraud, identity theft, and offences committed through information systems.
What Kilig does: Optional identity verification is handled by a specialist provider. Reports naming a possible offence are retained in a restricted store so they can be produced if lawfully required.

What it requires: JVANET PTY LTD is an Australian company, so the Australian Privacy Principles apply to how it handles personal information.
What Kilig does: The same access, correction and erasure paths satisfy both this and RA 10173 — one implementation, one audit surface. Complaints may be taken to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

What it requires: Establishes complaints schemes for cyber-abuse and non-consensual intimate images, and expects services to act on serious harm.
What Kilig does: In-app reporting, blocking, and a 24-hour action commitment on reports of objectionable content. A published contact address.

Online Safety Act — industry standards for relevant electronic services
What it requires: A dating service with a messaging function is a “relevant electronic service”, so the registered industry standards and codes on unlawful material and age-restricted material apply to it.
What Kilig does: In-app reporting, bidirectional blocking, and acting on serious material within 24 hours are built and enforced in the database. Proactive filtering is not: member photos and message content are not scanned before they are posted, so reports are the detection path today. The outstanding work is that filtering, plus a named recipient for a regulator notice and a documented response to one.

What it requires: Consumer guarantees cannot be excluded by agreement.
What Kilig does: The Terms state this explicitly and do not attempt to exclude non-excludable rights.

Apple App Review 1.2 — user-generated content
What it requires: Requires four things of an app carrying user-generated content: a way to filter objectionable material, a way to report it with timely responses, the ability to block abusive users, and published contact information.
What Kilig does: All four are the product's design commitments. The Terms carry an explicit zero-tolerance clause, and the developer contact is published on this site. Apple sets no fixed deadline for “timely”; the 24-hour commitment stated elsewhere on this site comes from RA 11930 and the Online Safety Act, not from Apple.

What it requires: Digital goods must be sold through the platform's own purchase system, and must not be redeemable for real-world value.
What Kilig does: Memberships are sold only through the stores' own purchase systems. Nothing sold in the app can be converted to money, goods, services, or anything of value outside it — the capability is absent from the codebase, not switched off. A build-time check fails if it reappears.

Age rating and data safety declarations
What it requires: Both stores require an accurate age rating and a data-safety declaration matching actual behaviour.
What Kilig does: 18+ throughout. The declarations are completed in the consoles at submission and must match this site's privacy policy exactly.
Kilig is built for the Philippines and is not marketed in the European Union or the United Kingdom, so it does not hold itself out as a GDPR-first service. The rights it does provide — access, correction, export, erasure, and a route to a regulator — are offered to every member regardless of where they are.
